Description
As a Credit Risk & Data Science Intern, you’ll support the team in developing data models, conducting advanced analytics, and delivering insights that shape our credit policies and portfolio management. You’ll work with real-world datasets, cutting-edge tools, and a team that thrives on curiosity, precision, and purpose.
What you will love doing in this role
Assisting in the development and validation of credit scoring models
Supporting the analysis of customer behaviour, risk trends, and repayment performance
Extracting, transforming, and analysing large datasets using SQL, Python, or R
Contributing to predictive modelling, segmentation, and machine learning initiatives
Assisting in building dashboards and performance reports
Collaborating with risk, finance, and technology teams on data-driven project.

What you’ll need to do this role
A completed Numerate (BSc, BCom, Bus Sci, BEng)
Proficiency in Python, SQL, R, or similar programming/data tools
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Understanding of statistics, modelling, and data structures
South African citizenship or permanent residency
Attention to detail and an eagerness to learn in a high-impact environment
