The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assisting the Parliamentary Research team with general and legislative research requests, proactively identify strategic issues, and identify new angles with a view of driving them in the media
Supporting the Parliamentary Research team with research and insight relating to Parliamentary activities
Performing general support functions to the Parliamentary Research Unit

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Law
Legal research experience in an academic/professional setting
Experience in a quality assurance or data auditing role (advantageous)
Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite and Zoom
Skills:

Written and verbal communication
Time management and organisation
Administration and attention to detail
Analytical and critical thinking
Abilities:

Conduct factual research under pressure
Distill complex information into clear language
Perform basic arithmetical calculations
Understand scientific articles within relevant fields
Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations
Be outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
Work independently
Apply sound judgement
