Job context:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Finance Intern to support finance activities that enable key internal business operations. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about finance, enjoys working with data and stakeholders, and wants practical exposure to finance processes that support the broader organisation

Successful candidates will assist with financial administration, reporting, and controls, while supporting teams through accurate and timely financial information.

 

The Finance Intern is primarily responsible for:

 

•Assisting with the processing of supplier and debtor invoices related to client services, activations, and events.

•Supporting the finance team with supplier reconciliations and resolving basic invoice or supporting document queries.

•Assisting with client services, budget tracking, and reconciliation support against the general ledger.

•Supporting WIP administration, including updating schedules, following up on outstanding information, and preparing files for review.

•Assisting with monthly journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliation packs, and supporting documentation.

•Capturing, organising, and filing finance records accurately, including invoices, purchase orders, proof of payment, and approvals.

•Assisting with fixed asset register updates and supporting asset verification administration.

•Assisting with EFTSure checks, new vendor application forms, and supplier onboarding documentation.

•Liaising with Account Managers and internal teams to follow up on finance information, approvals, and queries.

•Supporting month-end close preparation and ensuring deadlines are met.

•Support audits, compliance activities, and financial governance processes

•General finance administration and ad hoc duties as required.

 

 

 

Qualifications and experience:

Required :

 

•Have completed the academic requirements of their qualification

•Relevant Finance, Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, BCom Accounting, Diploma or similar qualification completed or in progress

•Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

•Good organisational and time-management skills

•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities

•Proficiency in MS Office (Excel is essential; Word and PowerPoint required)

•Exposure to financial systems or AI-enabled finance tools will be an advantage
