We are excited to announce our Graduate Embedded Systems Engineer Internship Programme – a 6-month internship designed especially for recent graduates.In this role, you will be reporting to the Manager: Embedded Systems while receiving dedicated mentorship and formal training from senior team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Embedded Systems Engineer is tasked primarily with designing, research and development of embedded systems, their responsibilities span circuit design, PCB layout, firmware development, and IoT and backend integration, as well as basic UI development for certain devices.
They play a vital role in ensuring that embedded solutions meet performance standards and seamlessly integrate with cloud platforms for enhanced functionality.
Additionally, they are in involved with enclosure design and prototyping.
The role includes attendance of stands up and reporting of project progress on a regular basis, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, as well as inter-team and collaboration with other departments. Furthermore, demos of products and solutions are required for customer engagements
KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Recent graduates with a BSc in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field are encouraged to apply
Strong foundation in C/C++ programming
Familiarity within electrical circuit and PCB design ideally using Kicad or similar software
Experience in circuit design, analysis and use of workshop tools such as power supplies, multimeters, soldering irons etc.
Experience in 3D modelling using CAD software for enclosure prototyping
Adequate knowledge of Python
Eager to learn and develop skills in firmware and circuit/PCB design as well as backend and cloud computing technologies such as AWS
Good verbal communication skills for effectively communicating with the team and ability to presenting information to varied technical and non-technical audience
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS (NOT MANDATORY TO HAVE ALL)
A willingness to learn about performance, scalability and best practices in developing embedded systems solutions.
Familiarity with edge computing principles and architecture and experience in development on Linux platforms
Exposure to microcontroller development on STM or ESP32 boards
Exposure to IoT technology.
Interest in learning Agile Development methodologies.
A proactive mindset, strong curiosity, and a passion for learning new techniques in both server-side backend technologies and embedded systems.
