Key Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Telematics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in hardware troubleshooting, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) analysis, and electronics design. This role involves not only diagnosing and resolving hardware issues but also managing the stock and inventory of telematics equipment, generating reports, and creating technical documentation. Additionally, the technician will play a crucial role in supporting our contract manufacturers by assisting with production processes and addressing production-related issues.

Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to

Hardware Analysis And Repair

Diagnose and resolve hardware issues related to telematics equipment.
Perform PCB debugging and analysis to identify faults and suggest improvements.
Develop and implement processes to assess and address hardware faults.

Stock, Inventory And Lab Management

Manage stock levels of telematics equipment and related components.
Maintain accurate inventory records and generate regular stock level reports.
Ensure proper storage and handling of telematics equipment
Lab management, ensure the lab is kept in a neat and orderly state.

Documentation And Reporting

Create detailed reports on stock levels, hardware issues, and resolutions.
Develop and maintain technical documentation on hardware troubleshooting and repair procedures.
Generate documentation to assist with training and knowledge sharing across the team.

Production Support

Collaborate with contract manufacturers to address production issues related to telematics hardware.
Provide technical support during the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
Assist in optimizing production workflows and processes.

Technical Skills And Knowledge

Strong background in hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Proficiency in PCB analysis and debugging.
Experience with electronics design or electronics analysis.
Thorough understanding of electronic design principles and methodologies.
Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Experience in inventory management and reporting.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Education And Experience

Education:

Matric (Essential)
B.Tech Electronic/Electricla Engineer or similar Engineering (Essential)

Minimum Experience

No previous internship and or graduate programme in any industry or government institution
No work experience
Between the ages of 18 – 30 (Essential)
You must be a South African Citizen by Birth or by naturalization before the 27th April 1994.
