The Key Purpose of this role is to support the People practices, processes and reporting for all departments within a Maltings Plant with the objective to drive plant performance. The traineeship is an opportunity for students who are required to undergo experiential training as part of their curriculum. Students will enter into a 12 month, fixed term contract with Caledon Maltings during which they will undergo both on-the-job and off-the-job learning to complete their qualification.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Actively contribute to building a high-performance, people-centered culture by promoting safety, accountability, and engagement within the plant environment
Support team effectiveness by ensuring equipment and workplace readiness, enabling colleagues to perform at their best and minimizing operational disruptions
Generate accurate and reliable insights through sample analysis, and translate results into meaningful information that supports team decision-making and plant performance
Foster strong collaboration by sharing information openly and timeously, empowering teams to respond quickly and continuously improve operational outcomes
Take ownership of identifying and addressing risks and non-conformances, working with others to implement solutions that strengthen quality and performance
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, actively supporting initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall plant capability
Build strong cross-functional relationships, understanding how different teams connect across the value chain and working together to achieve shared goals
Demonstrate a commitment to personal growth and learning, applying new knowledge and skills to improve both individual contribution and team effectiveness
Minimum Requirements:

Final year student completing a HR or business-related National Diploma qualification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams
Good administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Strong learning agility, initiative, and ownership mindset
Willingness to work in a plant/operational environment and engage with diverse teams
