THIS PROGRAMME IS AIMED AT AFFORDING YOUTH AN EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN WORK EXPERIENCE

ALLOWANCE / STIPEND: R3 500.00
PLEASE NOTE: No other benefits apply; successful candidates will be required to cover the
cost for their own accommodation and transportation to and from work.

Requirements:
▪ A recognised National Senior Certificate (Matric) or NQF L4 and equivalent
qualification.
▪ Basic understanding of EPWP and its relationship with the national, provincial, and
local government
▪ Basic organisation, coordination skills, stakeholder management, facilitation, and
good understanding of government planning process
▪ Have a knowledge of local community, arts and culture structures, library and sport
and recreation structures.

▪ Basic communication skills (verbal and written communication skills) and
interpersonal relation skills
▪ Must be presently unemployed
▪ Must live within a 5km radius of any of the DSRAC service centre including a
library/ museum art centre/ hub/cluster/club development and school/cluster of
schools
▪ Must be between the age of 18 – 35
▪ Must be prepared to undergo training

Duties:
▪ Provide support in the facilitation of the department’s programmes at ward level
▪ Collaborate and work in an integrated manner with another sector department
▪ Implement sport. arts, heritage, and cultural activities in at ward levels in art
centres, schools, library/ museum art centre/ hubs
▪ Mobilise schools and youth to be part of sports, arts, culture, heritage, sports and
recreation programmes and events
▪ Maintain relationships with local community organisations and other community
youth groups in the community.
