Job Advert Summary
The Fitter Apprentice assists with and completes maintenance work orders on equipment with Fitting requirements. This includes testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
Minimum Requirements
National Senior Certificate (with Maths & Science) or N3 (with Fitter Trade Theory, Mathematics and Eng.Science) or NCV 3 or 4 qualification in Fitting/Maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Receive regular training as and when agreed in a training programme, to understand and learn the trade.
General assistance to the Fitter including maintenance, fitting, installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, repair and maintenance of fittings or fitting work, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, etc. as required
Assisting in general fitter/fitting work and preparations as directed
As directed by the Line Manager to assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unload and check deliveries, etc.
Receive training so that you can assist with identifying hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
Maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation associated with your work.
