IVANHOE MINES is looking for a Communications Assistant.

Ivanhoe Mines is a leading Canadian mining company committed to becoming a global leader in the supply of critical resources required to transition our world to a low-carbon, renewable future.  Ivanhoe is focused on developing and expanding its four principal mining and exploration projects in Southern Africa. The development of the Kamoa-Kakula copper mining complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), the Platreef palladium-rhodium-platinum-nickel-copper-gold discovery in South Africa, the extensive redevelopment and upgrading of the historic Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver mine, also in the Democratic Republic of Congo and exploration on the Western Foreland, near Kamoa-Kakula.

Ivanhoe Mines is bolstering its corporate communications team by hiring a Communications Assistant. The candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting the team’s efforts on internal stakeholders. This includes, but is not limited to; content creation and design; managing and maintaining communication platforms; and, ensuring all communications are delivered in a timely and effective manner. The candidate will be required to build strong relationships with all internal stakeholders/departments and champion the company’s vision, mission, and values, fostering a sense of pride, compassion, and unity.

Requirements:

3-year relevant experience / education.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint.
Proficient in the Adobe Design Suite or equivalent design tools.
Excellent verbal and written English.
Proficiency in the use of social media platforms such as FB, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. is advantageous.
Minimum advanced skills and knowledge in:
Creative mindset.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to integrate well with the team.
Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Good people skills, be able to interact effectively and professionally with all relevant stakeholders.
Ability to write compelling news posts.
Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and coordinate work required.
Ability to work on Adobe Premiere / Premiere Pro or equivalent.
Web development skills.
Competent in written English.
Ability to read, speak and write in French is a bonus.
Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 
Support and implement content creation and design-related tasks promptly, in line with the Ivanhoe Mines corporate identity.
Assist with managing and maintaining communications platforms.
Collaborate with the communications team to find visual design elements to enhance the overall messaging for communications and campaigns.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across the communications teams at Ivanhoe’s operating and exploration projects, as well as the corporate communications and investor relations teams.
Assist with managing the Ivanhoe Mines digital communication assets.
