Responsibilities
Job Overview: Prepare test samples of material used in production, in components and conducts routine physical and chemical to ensure conformity to established specifications. Analyses qualitative and quantitative test by recording and computing pertinent data. May maintain laboratory equipment and for ordering replacement parts when necessary. Reports to supervisor.
Prepare and maintain laboratory ingredients and equipment
Sample raw materials, packaging and finished products
Test routine raw materials, packaging and finished products
Analyse and computed data and recorded information
Apply laboratory hygiene and safety procedure experience in quality control within a food manufacturing environment
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GLP, Food safety and quality systems
Strong attention to details with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies
Good understanding of hygiene, product grading and quality standards
Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
Accurate record keeping and reporting skills
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work shifts, holidays and weekends
Qualifications
1-3 years relevant experience in a Laboratory
Diploma in Food Technology/Biotechnology (or equivalent)
Good written and oral communication skills
Good computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to details and accuracy
Good organisational and time management skills
