Description
1.      Chief Geologist – UG

Purpose of Role

To oversee and manage all geological activities within Tharisa Minerals’ (TM’s) mining operations and play a crucial role in ensuring the successful exploration, extraction and development of mineral resources while optimising operational efficiency and safety.

 

2.      General Engineering Supervisor – UG

Purpose of Role

To manage and maintain all infrastructure and assets in the relevant section by applying a standard best practice approach to equipment maintenance through system inspections, condition monitoring as well as system and infrastructure design for the workshop area to achieve optimum productivity. To guide, support coach and monitor a team in order to improve team performance and contribution by ensuring adherence to the Health and Safety Act. (HSE) and improve performance.

 

3.      Occupational Hygiene/ Ventilation Specialist – UG

Purpose of Role

To coordinate, organise and control the ventilation and occupational hygiene control systems within a function ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the ventilation and occupational hygiene initiatives within a given area. To execute, coordinate and monitor the occupational hygiene program, ensure compliance with legal requirements and minimise risks associated with occupational health hazards.

4.      Surveyor – UG

Purpose of Role

To obtain appropriate internal and external data, using surveying instruments and technology, to ensure accurate surveying, calculations, certifications and representation on plan of all underground features and mining related events. To monitor survey activities for compliance with the relevant Acts, Regulations and contractual agreements, to enable informed management decision making.

 

5.      Training Specialist – UG

Purpose of Role

Ensure performance of on the job coaching and assessments and constantly ensure that the theoretical and practical training presented at the Training Centre is aligned and relevant to the tasks and jobs being done at the operations by applying expertise and specialist knowledge.

To support the Learning and Development Manager with the delivery of functional obligations to the required stakeholders at a high quality while maintaining and increasing the relevant standards to deliver accredited training to all learners, that adheres to the Tharisa Minerals and Regulatory requirements.

 

6.      Senior Maintenance Planner – UG

Purpose of Role

To effectively lead and coordinate the planning, scheduling, and optimization of all underground maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards. The Underground Senior Maintenance Planner will leverage technical expertise, planning tools, and cross-functional collaboration to minimize downtime, extend asset life, and support continuous improvement in underground mining operations.

 

7.      Document & Systems Administrator – UG

Purpose of Role

To assist with the Doc Centre Process through planned, systematic implementation, maintenance and constant updates of the Documentation in accordance with the planned review schedule and all unplanned reviews derived from changes required due to other operational requirements such as MOCs, Incidents, Audits, PTOs from concept to the finalisation and availability on SharePoint Portal platform for end users on the signed off documents.

 

Manage SharePoint Portal platform on the display of documentation in the right structures including allocation of metadata, design, developing and publishing of pages, site content etc.

8.      Accountant – UG

Purpose of Role

To assist with the allocated portfolios financial activities by compiling and reviewing all relevant financial records to drive compliance with all accounting principles and regulations. To manage, allocate, post and reconcile all accounts payable and receivable by producing and reviewing all respective reports and ensuring error-free accounting practices are implemented in the respective allocation of portfolios.

 

9.      Supply Chain Specialist – UG

Purpose of Role

To manage and oversee the execution of the Materials Requisition Process (MRP) within Tharisa Minerals by coordinating and implementing the control measures within the inventory stores of TM, ensuring a continuous and adequate supply of resources to the broader operations as and when they are needed. To monitor and control the tender process within TM by administering a comprehensive and compliant process in the procurement of goods for the organisation, driving a culture of good governance throughout the tender process.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements (Chief Geologist – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree (NQF8) Required 
Accredited MRM qualification and MBA are advantageous
Member of professional body (SACNASP- Pr.Sci.Nat)
Job specific experience:

A minimum of between eight to ten (8-10) years of experience at a Senior Management level, of which 5 years should be in an underground mining operation
Geology modelling and evaluation experience
 

Minimum Requirements (General Engineering Supervisor – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
National Diploma in Engineering (NQF 6) or N6 with a Trade Test / S4
Job specific experience:

5 -8 years combined experience as a maintenance planner / maintenance supervisor
 

Minimum Requirements (Occupational Hygiene/ Ventilation Specialist – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Diploma (NQF6) in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health or related field within the mining or other relevant industry
Advantageous: Degree (NQF7) in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health or related field within the mining or other relevant industry
Registered as an Occupational Hygiene Technician with the Southern African Institute for Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH)
Job specific experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years’ technical experience in Occupational Health and/or SHE within the mining or similar industry with specific experience in the ventilation environment
Minimum Requirements (Surveyor – UG):

Qualifications:
Grade 12
Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate in Surveying (NQF6) or National Diploma (NQF6) in Surveying  
Job specific experience:

Minimum of between three to five (3-5) years relevant experience
Experience using survey instruments, including GPS and Total Station
Minimum Requirements (Training Specialist – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
A formal relevant training qualification in Human Resources or Training
Diploma (NQF6) or equivalent in Human Resources Development
Job specific experience:

At least five (5) years’ technical experience
At least two (2) years’ training/coaching experience and conducting assessments and moderations within the Mining Sector
 

Minimum Requirements (Senior Maintenance Planner – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Recognised systems analysis / IT related qualification, equivalent to 2 years’ study.
NQF Level 4 Technical Maintenance Certificate (i.e. Asset Management) 
Job specific experience:

Minimum Five years Engineering experience as Maintenance Specialist in a mining environment
At least 5–7 years of maintenance planning experience, with significant exposure to underground mining environments.
 

Minimum Requirements (Document & Systems Administrator – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Diploma/Degree in Business Management/Business Administration/Safety (HSEC)Management or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
Job specific experience:

Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in document control/SHEC management systems within the mining or similar industry.
 

Minimum Requirements (Accountant – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Degree or National Diploma in Accounting in Finance/Accounting/Economics
Job specific experience:

At least three (3) years relevant experience in the accounting field, preferably in the mining industry
Minimum Requirements (Supply Chain Specialist – UG):

Qualifications:

Grade 12
Diploma (NQF6) in Supply Chain/Logistics or Business Administration
Job specific experience:

4-6 years of relevant experience in the Supply Chain function in the mining environment

Must be medically fit.
