Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position based at the Worcester Distillery. The successful candidate will report to the Cellar team Leader.
Supervise transfers and tank volume determination process
Monitor and evaluate tank transfer losses
Be innovative regarding improvements
Ensuring that samples are taken for analyses and transfers are accurately documented in movement books.
Ensure that all tank gauges are closed and stores locked at the end of shift
Ensure cleanliness of tanks and stores
Ensure health and safety requirements are adhere to
Supervise subordinates in their transfer and loading activities
Assist Cellar team Leader with monthly tank counts and bulk stock take activities
Assist Cellar team Leader with transfer planning to adhere to tank availibility.
Ensuring that pH of RSP HG and Feints 1 is correct for distillation.
Ensuring that all monthly inspections and checklists are completed
Actively participate in all related TPM activities
Ad hoc duties when required, including assisting in other departments
The successful candidate must have the following attributes, qualification, skills and experience:
Grade 12 or equivalent
A relevant tertiary level qualification will be advantageous
A minimum of 3 years general Cellar experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity
Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
Accuracy and attention to detail orientated
Excellent health and physically fit to cope with the physical demands of the position – must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Ability and willingness to conduct sensory evaluations
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Willingness to work irregular hours when required (evenings and weekends included)
Punctuality and attendance reliability
